LMU Tiny Dorm Ep. 1: A Nose For Sally

Welcome to the first installment of LMU’s own Tiny Dorm Music Series. LMU Tiny Dorm takes inspiration from NPR’s “Tiny Desk Concert Series” and operates in the same nature with its own cool spin on things. Just like NPR’s Tiny Desk, Tiny Dorm is a live concert series showcasing bands and musical artists performing their music in an acoustic stripped-back manner.

Tiny Dorm’s unique take on things stems from the fact that the whole concert and operation takes place in an LMU dorm room. LMU sophomores, Levi Huvard and Julian Currier got the idea for this project last school year when they were just freshman and now officially co-direct and co-produce everything as partners and roommates. As musicians and creatives themselves, Huvard and Currier were eager to get involved with the emerging LMU music scene and have been making massive strides in shaping its evolution. Both of them have multiple other musical ventures outside of Tiny Dorm that they are actively working on as well. Huvard is the drummer and one of the founders of the first band to ever take the Tiny Dorm stage, A Nose For Sally. The band consists of bassist and vocalist, Will Bowman, guitarist and vocalist, Benny Flora, guitarist, Michael “Kibs” Kibiloski, and drummer, Levi Huvard.

“The Nose Bros,” as their fans like to call them, are not only celebrating the first episode of Tiny Dorm, but are actually actively promoting and performing their debut full-length album “Nosedive,” which was released on all major streaming platforms on September 13th, 2024.

Not only can you catch them on this installment of Tiny Dorm, but you can see them live all around the Westchester area, as they are veterans in the LMU DIY music scene. Julian also recently won the Mane Entertainment Singer Songwriter competition alongside fellow LMU musician, Cameryn Starr. The two will be the opening act for this year’s Fallapalooza festival, with Levi accompanying them on the drums for the performance. While both Huvard and Currier are only sophomores as of this year, they have wasted no time on making a major impact on the LMU music scene and LMU Tiny Dorm is only the beginning for them.
