The Beatles Fan Club:
Their famous hits, like “Hey Jude” and “Let It Be,” made them one of the most famous bands in the world. This special club gives you the opportunity to travel back in time and keep the memory of such a distinguished group alive. Through trivia events and listening parties, students on all levels of Beatlemania can feel right at home.
Co-president Gia Anella shared that the club is open to everyone. “We’ve had some members who have sort of been dragged along by their friends to the meetings and who ended up becoming really big Beatles fans,” she said. “So it’s really for anyone to join, anyone who loves music, anyone who loves culture.”
Fashion Society Club:
Specially known for their yearly fashion show, where students can model, design and work behind the scenes for this unique fashion celebration, Fashion Society gives LMU students an opportunity to explore and discuss their love for style.
Their recent events include clothing swaps, a snack and sketch event and a Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show review with tote bag making. This club not only allows students to explore their creativity, but they also provide innovative events as well. Their meetings are held biweekly on Tuesdays in Saint Robs 022 at 7:30 p.m.
The Horror House Theatre Club:
If you are a self-proclaimed Halloween fan and curious about all things spooky, then the Horror House Theatre Club is perfect. Club member Andrew Bielek, a senior marketing and theatre arts double major and game design minor, explains that once they even had a 14-hour horror movie marathon.
They meet weekly, host horror movie trivia, guess horror movies based on the Letterboxd review, and have watch parties. Additionally, writers can write short horror scripts and have members act out their ideas.
Bielek motivates students to join, saying, “Don’t be afraid to meet people. Just hop in on a meeting, and yeah, you’ll have fun,” he said. “It’s a very accessible club… it’s very welcoming to newcomers.”
The Laughing Stock:
Are you interested in performing? Do you love stand-up and improv? The Laughing Stock is LMU’s newest improv comedy club. On February 18, they held their first show in the Living Room at 8 p.m.
